Baltimore (June 11, 2012) – Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf &
Hendler, LLC (ARD&H) Member Jerald B. Lurie was installed
as president of Temple Oheb Shalom (www.templeohebshalom.org) during erev Shabbat services, June 8.
Since 1853, Temple Oheb Shalom has served the
spiritual needs of the Baltimore
Jewish community and beyond. A “family of families,” the Temple creates, preserves and enhances
vibrant Reform Jewish life for its members through worship, educational, social
and cultural opportunities.
“I look forward to strengthening and growing the
Congregation to innovate programs and meet the challenges for the next 160
years,” said Lurie, who has served as Legal Counsel to the Temple for approximately 20 years.
He has served as executive
vice president, planning; development vice president, and executive vice
president for operations.
Lurie concentrates his practice in the areas of
business, real estate, employment, intellectual property, health care and tax
law. He joined ARD&H in 1982 and currently chairs its business section.
Active in the legal community, Lurie is the
outgoing president of The Simon E. Sobeloff Law Society, Baltimore
Chapter; co-chair of the Maryland State Bar Association program committee, and grants committee
chairman of the Maryland Bar Foundation.
A
past president of the Bar Association of
Baltimore City and the Maryland
Volunteer Lawyers Service, he also chaired the Maryland State Board of Pilots and served as secretary of the Maryland Board
of Professional Engineers.
An honors graduate of the University of Maryland
and the University of Maryland, School
of Law, Lurie resides in Baltimore
County’s Chestnut Ridge
community with his wife, Eve.
